The Net Fool’s Build-A-Blog Workshop – Build Your Blog & Win Prizes for FREE!
Posted on April 14th, 2009 by Jim under Blogging 101, Contests, Web Development
Global unemployment rates are rising faster than our debt, as the United States recently hit an 8.5% unemployment rate that is projected to climb to over 10% in a few months. Consumer confidence is at all time lows, down 74% from levels we saw back in 1985 (when tracking was started). While economic
conditions crumble in the United States, Canada, India, Western Europe, Russia and all around the world… many people search for a way to create a secondary income, but have trouble executing their business plans themselves.
The Net Fool Welcomes You to the Build-A-Blog Workshop!
Creating a weblog (or “blog”) on the internet is not only an awesome way to network and gain some instant fame online, but it is a lucrative business! Heck, I’ve pulled in over $5,000 from this blog alone… a project that was originally a simple resume builder. This is something that I do in my spare time completely, so it really isn’t a strain on anything. I am convinced that anyone in the world can take a blog that they spend a mere 30 minutes a day on, and make at least $10,000 annual in sales off of it!
I am going to take you all from step one to a completed (and profitable!) blog in just thirty days. Best of all, I will be working just 30 minutes every day on this blog, and showing you exactly what I am doing. I would be labeled in this industry as an “expert” blogger… and while I would never claim this title, I’ve gotten my feet wet and know the proper ways to get you to profitability fast. I’m going to show you every last detail of how I am starting and marketing my blog… so you can follow along and make money.
HostGator Sponsors Five AWESOME Contest Prizes
As many of you know, The Net Fool is proudly hosted on HostGator servers. I originally transferred to a plan at HostGator after having problems with my freebie hosting for a long while. I’ve really never regretted this decision, as you pay few little for high-performance, great customer support and an awesome deal that keep your wallet full! HostGator is one of the world’s top 10 largest web hosting companies with more than 1,300,000 hosted domains. They have over 200 employees to provide around-the-clock superior support, and are “the perfect choice whether you are looking for business, personal, or even Fortune 500 hosting.”
How good is HostGator? They’ve agreed to sponsor 5 HUGE Business Plans (worth $180 each) to 5 participants in The Net Fool’s Build-A-Blog Workshop!!!

Option One: Take The Course!
The first way to win the Net Fool’s Build-A-Blog Workshop contest is to take the workshop along with us! This is a very good idea for any aspiring entrepreneur, and it will give you awesome exposure right off the bat. If you decide to follow along with the course, not only will you be entered to win a great free hosting plan from HostGator… but you will get free mentions on The Net Fool on a daily basis.
- If 1-6 people enter the workshop: We’ll give away 2 Business Hosting Plans!
- If 7+ people enter the workshop: We’ll give away 3 Business Hosting Plans!
This is a fantastic opportunity for an instantly successful blog from a professional. Better yet, if you purchase your first hosting plan through my referral link (you can simply tack on a year of hosting later), I will buy you your own domain name and install everything you need to get started! I challenge you to find a better deal.
Option Two: Promote Our Contest
Do you already know the ropes or aren’t interested in starting a fresh new venture? No Problem! We have another opportunity to those of you that this applies to, and will give away from 2-3 FREE HostGator business hosting plans to two random entries (depending on above participation) to people that help out.
Prizes will be donated through racking up entries; entries can be gained in a few ways:
- 5 Entries – Blog about the contest, at least 400 words, and link back to this post
- 3 Entries – Advertise our contest with this promotional image
- 2 Entries - Link Back to the contest (blog’s pagerank must be >2)
- 1 Entry – StumbleUpon this post & comment on the stumble
- 1 Entry – Follow Me On Twitter & tweet about this contest
- Required - Comment on this page to let me know what you’ve done!
Conclusion:
Another thanks to HostGator for sponsoring us this time. The Build-A-Blog Workshop will be starting on April 17th, 2009. If you plan to work alongside us, just drop a comment and we will get you listed! No need to register a domain name or anything like that, we will be completing all of that in the workshop. Remember, you must be subscribed to The Net Fool’s Email RSS Feed to win a prize! We’ll be updating the blog once a day with what I did in my allotted 30 minutes of blogging, this should be a fun one-month of activity.
Stay Bullish On The Net!

Just emailed all of you for your participation
I am extending the start time until next Wednesday to allow for more people to get their bearings
I also am taking part in workshop. I believe you checked my mail. I have not received mail from you.
Do inform me of the next step.
Good luck to those who enter.
People never believe me when I say I make a nice living from blogging, working an hour a day, but it’s true. So much builds on what you’ve done before, so if you’re willing to work just an hour a day (but keep doing it month in and month out), you can absolutely build up a steady income stream. I hit the six figure mark last year, and this has definitely become my dream job!
Sounds good..
Hey
I would love to join up if i am still allowed.
I so need a mentor to help me get started.
Should i email you?
Go ahead and email me your name/email so that I can get you on the roster
We extended the deadline just for this kind of situation!

I’d love to join the workshop as well.
Just drop me a message. Thanks.
I am a total newbie but want to build a blog. Is joining in this contest a good idea for a newbie like me? I will probably need someone to explain to me what to do – maybe you do that. I have wanted to do a blog for a long time, so this seems to be a time to start. I only have one problem, I am scheduled for Jury Duty on April 22. I will find out April 21 after 5 p.m. if I will have to show up – if I do not have to show up then I will be free of this duty. Will this put me behind or could I catch up if I have to be there a day or two? Help and let me know answers ASAP. I will appreciate it very much. Also, is there a charge for the building a blog- and how much is it? I may have overlooked it but did not find it anywhere. Thank you and I enjoy you and your readers. You also give me hope of making a little money. I have two or three ways to go on this one so may need more than one site – will need more than one. Sharon.Stoffregen1@Verizon.net
Just talk to hostgator support and they can just SPONSOR you a whole plan for free if you run a blog.
I was hosted for free on a dedicated server for pretty much the whole life of my blog, but their support got VERY VERY crappy.
-Mike
I would really love to join the workshop. Already have a blog but going nowhere fast.
I also love to participate but i’m n’t sure what i’m suppose to get admission in the contest.
Just shot you an email, I just need your name/email to get you aboard!
Sounds like a great deal
Such a gr8 opportunity, i’m a blogger so i want to be participate in this contest and win prize
HI Jim,
Though late but would like to be part of this training, Can you please register me.
Hey just a heads up, I wanted to let everyone know that Xio Dibin speaks English. I hope I posted in the right location?
Hey guys, I got off jury duty – I mean they settled before they had to go to trial. I am free to try to do this blog. I am still lost though. I do not have a URL or website – how do I advertise the blog as you want us to – Can I do it with my email address that I am using now?
Also, since I have several things I want to do – I am an artist and would love to answer questions or give back some of the things I learned. 2. I have many art supplies that are new and unopened which have only gone up in value since I bought them 3. I have every thing anyone could want – mat cutters – mat boards – all paints – pencils etc. etc. I also have to downsize this home as we will be moving to a smaller one. 4. I have new jewelry and other art work paintings, photographs etc. to sell-sculpture. 5. Many how to books on just about any media that are in wonderful condition – some are autographed by the well known artists of today. Of course, I want to get into some of the art groups – as they talk about in Artful Blogging. 6. I also want to do affiliate marketing. Do I have to get 6 domain names? Should they be key words on what I am doing – I also teach so left that out. Can it be something as simple as Mema’s art.com – would that get me spotted? That is what my grandchildren call me; Help please as I just do not know anything? I appreciate all of your comments and I would appreciate Jim’s help of someone’s. Thanks,
Just sent you an email Sharon
It’s best to take it slow, so let’s start with one blog and work up to your goal!
