Good afternoon readers!

It’s Sunday again, time for a weekly roundup and my game-plan for the week ahead. I gotta tell you, there was a good amount of garbage thrown around this week on the world wide web, and while there were some great looking posts… there was also a huge amount of advertising and sponsored posts to weed through. Lucky for me, I was hard at work on various projects… let’s round up the week ending May 17, 2008.

These posts are really something special, so take a look. I especially enjoyed the keyword research post on the Blog Entrepreneur and the organic landing page discussion found on Courtney Tuttle’s popular blog. It’s these kinds of “niche” blog posts that I think are excellent in making people loads of cash online… no more of that generalized fluff. ;)

Ranking Jump!
Big news this week, The Net Fool Dot Com is ranking #65 best blog on the internet! On the insanely viral and popular “Top 100 Blogs” list at 45n5.com, theNetFool.com got a dramatic boost in ranking from completely out of the picture (over #300) last week, to #65 this week! I honestly couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw I was in the top 100, something hard for ANY blog… and definitely something to brag about. As much as I can’t expect this ranking to last too long, I am proud to say that I am beating out most blogs around as of now… and heck, I’m loving it!

Stock Market
This week was a pretty volatile week in the stock market… up and down… up and down. There was a mix of good and bad news in the economy. Retail sales were down 0.2% versus a consensus estimate of just 0.1%, but if you take away automobile sales.. things were better than expected. The Consumer Price Index (CPI), a measure of price inflation, came in below estimates of 0.3% with 0.2% (which is a good thing). Housing Starts were also above estimates, which looks like we may possibly be seeing a bottom in the housing market. However, this news was largely overshadowed Friday as consumer sentiment came in under expectations.

So yeah, things were rocky but flat for the week in the stock market. My holdings did fantastically! Yamana Gold (NYSE: AUY) saw a great recovery as the U.S. Dollar took a hit (sorry dollar), NVidia (NYSE: NVDA) came on strong along with the technology sector and even Starbucks (NYSE: SBUX) had a 6% pop on Friday. So I ended up making some good money this week, and I’m generally pretty happy about my performance after a below-par last week. :)

Blogosphere
And on to the blogging world. As I mentioned above, a lot of heat was thrown around on various comment areas as a lot of blogs continue to destroy their own websites with tons of sponsored posts. I think this is a bad thing, and any blog that is doing more than 1-2 sponsored posts a week is going to get burned in the long run. The big competition between John Cow and Garry Conn kicks off tomorrow, and it seems that Cow is assembling a big army of marketers to help him win… which is a bit unfair in my view, but whatever works I suppose!

As you know, I released my new eBook “Work Smart, Get Rich!” this week through the website http://www.ebook-rich.com. This has been somewhat successful so far, so I am excited to see how sales will come in once my website begins to appear with higher placements on Google. Just to give you an update, so far I have made somewhere from $75-$125 off of this book, which has already been worth the hour I spent writing it. If you want to learn how to do like I did, you should pick up a copy for just $15 and I guarantee you will at LEAST make twice your deposit.

Here’s a little bonus for you bloggers out there:

This Week: for the week coming up, I am going to put out a standard blogging article and hopefully a great post about the stock market (hope you enjoyed my latest stock broker post). I am just wrapping up some projects and am going to be doing some job searching now that I’m home from school. I should be able to post daily, so stay tuned.

The Net Fool’s Outrageous Blog Contest is reaching a close! Only 2 weeks remain in the competition worth over $4,500 in cash and prizes… so be sure to subscribe to my RSS feed if you haven’t already, and why not DIgg or Stumble a post or two for some easy entries!? The prize pool is HUGE and the entry pool is small, so every entry that you rack up is going to count in a big way. Again, this contest ends at the end of the month and winners will be announced June 2nd.

That’s it for this week, keep coming back and supporting the Net Fool dot com to make this one of the best blogs on the internet… so we can live up to the hype.
