Making Money Online with Affiliate Referrals – Earn $1,000’s with Easy HostGator Sales
Posted on July 19th, 2008 by Jim under Affiliate Marketing, Make Money Online
Looking for a way to make $1,000’s in the blink of an eye? You may think I’m exaggerating, but getting sales with some well-converting affiliate programs can be as easy as riding a bike, and anyone can do it.
This is a method that has been a best-kept secret by the internet marketing community for quite some time. I know full well that they are going to have my head for letting you guys in on one of the fastest ways to make thousands of dollars on the internet… but this is just too good to pass up. By exploiting the power of the best affiliate program on the internet, you can actually make over 1,150% more than your referral pays. This translates to some insane profits on your end. So let’s get started!
The Basic Idea
You all know about the affiliate programs that exist on the internet. The basic idea is that you sign up as a referral under a company, and for every sale you refer you get X% of that sale. But what if you could find such an affiliate program that paid you a flat rate that was actually MORE than the sale itself? You could make a fair amount of money, couldn’t you?
As it just so happens, the program with HostGator offers payouts that offer over 1,150% more than what your referral actually needs to pay for the successful conversion. By getting people to sign up to just a few months of hosting, you can grab up to $125
flat-rate on each purchase. This method is fool-proof and the pros have been exploiting it for awhile. It’s time to let you in on the big secret.
The HostGator Referral Program
The affiliate program over at HostGator, one of the web’s largest web hosting companies, is the best I’ve seen. The system works in four phases, and credits you a variable flat-rate each time you make a sale. Keep in mind that there is a 60-day hold period where your earnings will be on standby in order to cut down on fraud. This is no big deal, as we just need people to sign up for 2 months of hosting. You are going to be making anywhere from $50 to $125 dollars on every sale you refer, depending on how many people you get to sign up each month. So register here if you want to be paid using the HostGator pay scale.
If you are anything like me, wouldn’t you rather skip the system and get a whopping $100 every sale from the get-go? This loophole of sorts was shown to me by Reid from MooneyQuest.com, so thank him for it. Essentially, if you sign up with Commision Junction, they will pay you $100 every time you refer a use to HostGator through your CJ account. This is by far the better way to go, unless of course you are planning on referring over 20 people every month… at which point you’d break even.
The downside? If you use CJ.com, you can only get paid in check or direct deposit. But you have your options: either you sign up directly through HostGator, or you just go for the big bucks from the start with Commission Junction’s HostGator affiliate program.
Offer Your Referrals a Discount
Before you focus on how exactly you are going to get people to sign up for two months of hosting using your referral, let’s make things affordable for them! People like a good deal, and it just so happens that they can grab the first month of hosting for just 1 cent using the coupon code “HGC25“, the second month on the mid-sized hosting package is just $9.95. This means that you can get people to buy hosting under you that will earn you as much as $125 for under $10 (or $9.96 for you math guys).
How to Get People to Sign Up
Obviously, now that we have the premise in mind, we need a game plan to pick up our sales. I think that you will find it is very easy to get people to sign up to hosting underneath you, especially if you have something to offer. If you are a blogger, you essentially have things made as you can simply leverage your reputation as a means to get people to buy hosting under your account. But even if you are just a run of the mill entrepreneur, there are plenty of methods to have people signing up!
- Offer a Discounted Good
Chances are, you may already have your own eBook, membership or other digital product on the market. Getting people to sign up can be as simple as offering a special discounted $10 copy of your good to people. What’s more, you can even say that with every purchase, they’ll get two free months of web hosting from HostGator. Who’s going to turn that kind of deal down? - Provide a Service
Offering a service is very easy to do, and you don’t necessarily need to be talented in any specific area in order to get business. By making a thread on DigitalPoint webmaster forums or WarriorForum you can get people interested in graphic design, article writing, advertising you name it that would be more than willing to get you $10 and get free hosting along with it. Heck, maybe you could even sell them the hosting straight up! - Leverage Your Influence
If you own a blog, feel free to use that to your advantage. Offer your readers something extra and give them hosting on top of it. It’s quite easy when you already have the subscriber base, so feel free to go ahead and reach out to the community you’ve already built for support.
I’ve seen people get $3,000+ every month by offering to do various things for people on the internet. Lots of these schemes have involved offering to set blogs up, giving tutorial lessons on the
internet or providing a consulting service. Since you are going to be making at least 900% more than you are asking for, this is one of the easiest paths to riches around.
The HostGator Path to Riches Recap
Okay, it’s recap time. This post outlined a method of making money online using the affiliate referral program offered through HostGator. The first step is to sign up with either HostGator (pay scale) or CJ.com (flat rate). Once you have an affiliate link to sign people up with, simply sell two months of hosting with a coupon for a total order under $10.00 to people by offering discounted goods and services with a “bonus” hosting plan. It’s fast, it’s simple, and their is no potential downside.
Bottom Line: The Net Fool’s HostGator referral method promises HUGE upside with absolutely zero downside rise… making it worthwhile for anyone. Other than this, there is additionally no risk of the method ever being saturated or over used, as the affiliate program is giving you a rate that won’t go away simply because more people are doing it. I’m hoping that you guys make a lot of money doing this. Go ahead and refer your friends over to this article if you like the idea.

I’d rather take my chances, 11 referrals a month aren’t to hard to drive. Why give a middle man a cut..

I like programs like this. They can afford to pay so much commission because people stay with the same hosting provider for the same reason they stick with the same hosting compnay. If there are nto many problems, it’s not worth changing, so a customer is usually a customer for a long time.

@ MoneyB: Yeah well with 11 – 20 you are only breaking even. You’d have to have 21 or more before it is justified. The middleman is quite alright if he/she is giving a generous cut
Ralph: They are really banking on the fact that you are bringing returning customers that are going to buy a year or more of hosting. I’m sure they have it all figured out in their books. Nevertheless, we can exploit this for some insane profits
With the coupon you’d have to pay 5 dollars because there is a 5 dollar installation fee, that’s what I paid.
Germzs last blog post..Invisible shield Review… what a scam.
Not if they sign up for the middle plan. The $7.95 a month plan has a $5 setup fee, the $9.95 a month plan does not. Use the HGC25 coupon on the $9.95 plan.

I don’t know why you are all putting this on such a pedestal. It’s actually really easy any anyone can do it. I wouldn’t jsut put a banner up and expect to make sales, you need to be proactive. Make a post on DigitalPoint or another forum. Open up your IM Client and ask people if they want stuff done. You’ll find lots of people ready and willing to pay $10 for some hosting, especially if they are getting stuff in exchange!
Hostgator is the BEST hosting on the planet!!!! It is easy to promote them when you use them. I find the product review to be most effective.
Thanks Jim,

Interesting idea. I think I saw some other blogger make money this way: i.e., the offer was for 1 cent, and then it jumped to $10/month. I always wondered how that was possible, but now I realize that, through CJ, the incentive is made possible due to the high $125 flat fee. Nice!
Insane. It took me a week to respond because my brain cannot process all this math. But I just signed up and will somehow make this work for me. Thanks for another great post.
Thanks for sharing. Got to try it out for myself and see how it pans out.
